I do not really need to or even want to keep on repeating the fact that we all love our teas and coffees in the morning to get the day started. And I’m not too sure about you but I have always wondered which one is the better to drink? Is tea healthier or does coffee provide the better health benefits?
Truth be told, both tea and coffee have their own benefits and drinking one or the other will depend on your own personal taste. One person might love coffee while another will hate that taste and prefer to drink tea instead and vice versa. But as I said, both drinks have their own benefits and I want to explain some of these very quickly.
First of all, it is very important to realize that tea has high levels of antioxidants. This helps the body to fight against inflammation and this is highly important in lowering the risk of heart disease and stroke. On top of that, as get older, we tend to forget things a lot quicker. Tea is supposed to fight against this and improve the function of our brain cells. The only issue that you have probably noticed is that tea tends to stain the teeth.
Similarly to tea, coffee is also high in antioxidants. This tends to provide long-term protection against common diseases that affect us at an older age. For example, the incidence of cancers such as liver cancer can be reduced if coffee is consumed on a regular basis. Coffee also provides protection against type 2 Diabetes and several cognitive diseases. Coffee has its own advantages but like Tea, there can be some disadvantages too. For example, coffee can be quite acidic so it can affect the digestive system.
As you can see there are several arguments for and against drinking both tea and coffee. So both will provide sufficient protection for your body in their own ways. But it will be quite difficult to decide on one over the other. For this reason, you should always choose the one that you like the taste of. The one that you actually like drinking.
